For Learning & Development, there are 3 Capability Statements:
Uses digital tools for personal learning and professional development
| Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3 |
I understand that different digital tools, platforms and systems can help me with all of my personal learning and professional development (e.g. my organisation’s learning management system, LinkedIn Learn, SSSC MyLearning App), and I am happy to use these to achieve my learning goals. | I actively seek out online learning opportunities without being prompted and discuss these with my line manager. Where appropriate I am happy to create accounts, log in to e-learning systems and participate in online learning activities using the digital devices that are available to me. I can also use digital tools to review and keep a record of my personal learning and development goals. | I am a self-motivated learner who actively seeks innovative digital ways to support my professional development, using a wide range of digital tools and technologies to both record my learning and look for new development opportunities. |
Uses digital tools to support others with their personal learning and professional development
| Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3 |
I am able to use my knowledge of digital tools to help others who are less confident than me with their learning, for example, by assisting a colleague to find and access online learning opportunities. | I am happy to encourage and assist others to use digital tools for the purpose of learning and development, sharing what I know and building my own experience and knowledge at the same time. | I lead on promoting the use of a wide range of innovative digital tools to support learning. I regularly participate in online forums, webinars and podcasts to share my experience and inspire others. |
Committed to building my personal digital capabilities and supporting others to do the same
| Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3 |
I understand why it is important for health and social care staff to build their digital capabilities, and I know how to access resources that can help me do this (e.g. the Digital & Data Resource Hub, the Thriving in a Digital Age Pathways). I embrace opportunities to develop new digital capabilities and put these into practice whenever I can. | I understand how a digitally skilled workforce can support transformation within organisations. I proactively look for opportunities to develop my digital capabilities and am keen to learn about new functionality, technologies and innovations. I help others to improve their own digital capabilities and support a culture of continuous learning. | I advocate for digital upskilling and can confidently explain how this will help transform my organisation and improve how services are delivered across health and social care. Wherever possible I support opportunities for individuals to develop their digital capabilities. |
