This toolkit contains all resources needed for experienced facilitators/tutors to run interactive, shared decision making workshops. It includes;

  • tutor training presentation for experienced facilitators to use in tutor development
  • tutor guide to running interactive workshops
  • template for writing scenarios with some examples

Facilitators should use scenarios that fit the context and learning needs of their participants.

Tutor roles:

To run an interactive communication workshop requires a minimum of two experienced tutors. A third tutor is helpful if available. Simulated patients, relatives or staff members act as interviewees and can be tutors, trained volunteers or other staff.

This shared decision making (DECIDE) training resource was developed by senior clinicians and educators from Public Services Delivery (PSD) Scotland, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and the University of St Andrews.
