Duty of Candour supports the implementation of consistent responses across all health and social care providers when there has been an unexpected event or incident that has resulted in death or harm, that is not anticipated or expected in the course of the condition for which the person is receiving care.
This site contains two e-learning modules (launched July 2025). These replace the previous module and reflect updated guidance from Scottish Government released in March 2025.
The Duty of Candour provisions set out a range of things that need to happen when unexpected or unintended harm has occurred.
We have provided a range of resources for health and social care staff to support them to understand the Duty of Candour and what it means for their role.
You must be logged into TURAS LEARN in order to see the modules.
