The resources that are included on this site have been collated by members of the NHS Education for Scotland Prison Healthcare Education and Training group. This group consists of individuals who either work in prison healthcare or in education and training. We hope that the resources included will be useful to you and that they cover relevant areas of practice. Additional resources will be added as they become available.

Prison Nursing Transforming Roles Development Framework
The Prison Nursing Transforming Roles Framework focuses on the role of Prison Nurses in Scotland. It is aligned to, and includes generic content from the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions (NMAHP) Development Framework (NHS Education for Scotland 2023). The framework can be used by existing and future prison nurses, members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), service providers and educators.
