New Horizons uses a blended approach to learning with work required before & after each learning day. Participants will also be expected to apply their learning in the workplace between the sessions and commit to sharing their own reflections and learning with cohort colleagues.
Under each Learning Day heading you will find guidance outlining the required supporting work for each learning day (to be completed before and after each learning day) along with materials and resources required. There are also further optional resources which may be of interest to support your learning. To achieve the stated learning outcomes for each learning day you will need to complete the require work before and after the learning days as well as implementing your learning in your workplace. Although a quick reminder is sometimes given of the key learning points from the pre-work it will often be difficult to participate fully in the conversation and activities if you have not completed the essential elements of the pre-work. This not only affects your own learning, but has a knock on impact to those you are working with in the session. If for any reason you have not been able to complete the essential elements of the pre-work please advise the facilitators in advance so that they can make appropriate arrangements to support your learning and limit the impact on others.
At the end of each learning day you will be asked for feedback on the session – What went well? It would be even better if…? We highly appreciate your thoughts and suggestions to help us continually improve the New Horizons learning days and overall programme, and to evaluate any impact it may have on you, your team and your organisation.
