The third webinar took place on Thursday 13 November, focusing on what’s really happening in health and social care. We addressed through the myths, shared practical examples of AI in action, and explained what it means for your role.
Featuring expert insights from:
Is there a national policy on AI use in NHS Scotland?
Not yet. Work is underway to develop a national framework for Health and Social Care (expected next year). This is being designed by the Scottish Government and COSLA to guide safe and ethical AI adoption. Local policies still apply.
Can I use AI tools like Copilot for patient data?
For any work involving patient data, always refer to your organisation’s Information Governance policies and guidelines. These policies outline the correct procedures for handling sensitive information and ensure compliance. Senior leaders are encouraged to communicate their organisation’s AI position clearly and support staff learning.
What are the main risks of using AI?
What can help manage and mitigate risks?
Will AI replace roles within the workforce?
AI is intended to enhance roles, not eliminate them. It can automate repetitive tasks, freeing up time for more higher value meaningful work. The workforce should be supported with training and guidance from their organisation to build confidence and digital capability.
