Staff working within the NHS to support people with eating disorders form a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care. These professionals include GPs, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, dietitians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and family therapists, all collaborating to address the complex physical, psychological, and social aspects of eating disorders. Their role spans early identification, comprehensive assessment, and tailored interventions that follow national guidelines, ensuring treatment is safe, effective, and person-centred. By combining clinical expertise with sensitivity and understanding, NHS teams aim to promote recovery, reduce health risks, and empower individuals and families through education and ongoing support.
