Why is developing quality improvement (QI) important?

Quality Improvement (QI) training gives you the skills to make effective change in your day-to-day clinical work. This improves the safety and the effectiveness of the care provided to patients, but also helps to make your work more satisfying and run more smoothly.

Improving ‘quality’ can mean many things. It can mean improving the safety, effectiveness, efficiency, patient centredness or equity of our work. It can also include improving the well-being of team members, reducing everyday work hassles and making work better.
