Formal Education

As an experienced advanced level practitioner, you may be interested in formalising the training element of your role and there are lots of programmes available within your local Higher Education Institute (HEI).

Education Roles

One approach you may want to consider is an associate or honorary contract or a clinical academic role. Most Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) will have someone you can speak to about undertaking one of these roles and can provide guidance and support about next steps.

NHS Lothian have developed a framework for collaboration with a number of HEIs in Scotland.

Please refer to this resource: Clinical and Academic Homes – Health and Care Professions Research

There are opportunities to apply for a full-time lecturer role and if you have had some experience and made some connections with your local HEI, you may feel more prepared to apply for one of these roles.
