Learning resources and training opportunities for advanced nurse practitioners under the facilitation of learning pillar.
Introduction
Within this section you will find an outline of the knowledge, skills and behaviors needed to enable effective learning in the workplace.
Advanced level practitioners should be able to apply the principles of teaching and learning to support others to develop knowledge and skills within their everyday practice.
As an advanced level practitioner your knowledge and skills in relation to facilitating learning should relate to these key areas:
- Role model effective facilitation and teaching skills and develop those skills in others
- Apply a range of facilitation, teaching and assessment skills to practice
- Demonstrate understanding of Adult Learning Theory and application appropriate to role
- Support and supervision of junior team members, trainees, and students.
- Creating a positive learning culture and role modelling good practice to support an effective learning environment.
- Taking responsibility for own Continuing Professional Development and support others to do so.
- Reflective practice and the support of others to reflect and participate in supervision
- Engage with education providers to contribute to curriculum development and delivery
