This page will provide information about the Test of Knowledge.  You need to sign up to the Dental Mandatory Training course on the Course Booking page before you will be able to sign up for the Test of Knowledge.

Getting Started

You need to take and pass the Test of Knowledge (ToK) as part of your required training. After registering for the mandatory training course and the test, you will receive an email from Questionmark. Make sure to check your spam or junk folders if you don't see it. This email will contain your password and a link to reset it. It's important to reset your password immediately. Another email, sent by the NES Mandatory Training team, will provide your username.

Please keep in mind that the link in the email is only for logging in to the Questionmark site once, without a password. After logging in with the link, you will be prompted to change your password. Don't use this link every time you log in, as it's only for the initial setup. Your password should be at least 8 characters long and include a special character and an uppercase letter.

Once you've logged in to the test for the first time, you can access it on any device by going to the following URL:

Module 2: Managerial 

 

  • Comprised of a random selection of 45 questions from a large question bank
  • You must attain 71% or higher to pass
  • Combined passmark must be at least 74%
  • Multiple choice or multiple response question

Drug prescribing for Dentistry June 2021 Update

The following update lists amendments to Drug Prescribing For Dentistry 3rd Edition (published in January 2016), as a result of changes published in the British National Formulary (BNF) and BNF for Children (BNFC). The section numbers, section headings and pages of the SDCEP guidance that are affected are provided together with the relevant amendments. This June 2021 update incorporates the information included in the June 2017 update.

Key Points

 

  • You should not practice the test on the day of the invigilitated test (after midnight BST/GMT)
  • You can have a maximum of three attempts to pass on the day of the examination
  • If you fail to pass, you will need to practice and pass three practice attempts prior to rebooking

Requirements

 

  • You require a laptop or desktop PC connected to the internet;
  • You require a device with a camera such as a mobile phone which can connect to TEAMS meeting;
  • Photo identification (passport / driving license / student card) please take a selfie holding your ID and send via email at least one week before examination.
