The learning programme for Adults with Incapacity is used within 2 of our NES Dental training courses:

  1. Dental AWI: A course for Dentists on capacity and consent 
  2. Enhanced Skills Domiciliary Practitioners 

The information below will offer guidance relating to your course of choice.

AWI: A course for dentists on capacity and consent

Eligibility and booking information: 

  • Are you currently a Dentist working within the Public Dental Service?
  • Do you work in Special Care?
  • Would you like to develop skills in signing S47 forms?

Please use the following instructions to book your place on the next available course: 

  1. Discuss the need for this training with your departmental line manager. 
  2. Clinical Director to provide agreement and study leave.
  3. Final agreement communicated to NES - Reducing Inequalities
  4. Communicate interest to the NES Reducing Inequalities Team via email.

If you have completed all of the above please submit your learning programme application using the link below.

Eligibility and booking information: 

  • Are you a GDP?
  • Are you looking to provide Domiciliary care to care homes in your local health board area?
  • Would you like to develop skills in signing S47 forms?

Please use the following instructions to book your place on the next available course: 

  1. Follow the application process for Enhanced Skills Domiciliary Practitioners in your local health board.
  2. Identification of a PDS mentor who will support your development.
  3. Communicate interest to NES Reducing Inequalities Team via email.
