Background information on the Knowledge, Information and Data (KIND) workforce.

Introduction

This section of the website signposts key reports and resources which outline the roles and capabilities of KIND staff, and how skills are changing in response to health and care service needs and digital transformation. 

The KIND workforce comprises staff who have management of data, information and knowledge as a core element of their role. The Time to Shine survey identified 117 job titles for this workforce, including librarians and knowledge managers, data and information analysts, managers and scientists.

The learning resources on this website focus on supporting KIND staff functions and capabilities, rather than individual professions. The KIND project identified six core capabilities across KIND disciplines:
