Information on National Support Worker events, including event information, recordings, presentation slides and supporting resources.
During the event, we introduced the Code, developed with staff across health services and founded on NHS Scotland Values. The Code applies to all staff who are not statutorily regulated and work in NHS Scotland, regardless of role or setting. We also outlined the next steps, including the roll-out of training to support staff in understanding and applying the Code in everyday practice.
The recording and presentation slides from the event are available using the links below:

The modernised Code is still going through final checks, and the final approved Code will follow once the review is complete. The new Code will replace the current Code of Conduct and Induction Standards and will be accompanied by an e-learning module which all Support Workers should complete annually.
Until such time as the Code is published and the e-learning module is live, the existing Support Worker workbook should continue to be used.
Further information will be cascaded widely once the Code has completed final checks and the review process is concluded.
