IMG Induction Programme
Who Can Attend?
The programme is open to all IMGs joining NHS Fife, including:
- Residents in Training posts
- Locally Employed Doctors (LEDs)
- Staff Grade, Associate Specialist and Specialty Doctors (SAS)
- Consultants
What’s Included?
Our induction offers a comprehensive introduction to:
- NHS systems and structures
- The IMG workforce and common challenges
- Communication and non-technical skills
- Career progression and portfolio development
- UK prescribing practices
- Clinical simulation sessions
- NHS medicolegal practices
Ongoing Support
Support continues beyond induction, with:
- IMG Sim Club (acute and community based simulation teaching)
- One-to-one guidance from the IMG Lead
- Regular contact from Medical Education
Peer Support Networks for IMGs
To help you settle in, we offer an IMG Buddy Scheme. Each new International Medical Graduate is paired with an experienced colleague who can provide guidance, answer questions, and support you as you navigate your new role.
WhatsApp Group for IMGs
Stay connected through our dedicated IMG WhatsApp Group, where you can share experiences, ask questions, and receive quick updates from peers and the Medical Education team.
Regular Updates
You can also receive regular emails from Medical Education, ensuring you have access to important information, resources, and ongoing support throughout your journey.
