IMGs bring a wealth of skills and experience to our health service and have been crucial to the delivery of high-quality care since the inception of the NHS.

This guide has been developed as a tool to signpost supervisors, managers, Health Boards, and GP Practices to resources which can assist in providing a robust induction, and ongoing pastoral support for any new IMGs joining the workforce.

It is full of interactive links to take you to the outlined resources. Some of the resources in this guide are suitable for doctors entering formal medical training programmes, whilst others are for doctors joining Health Boards and GP Practices across all specialities.

We hope this is a useful tool for IMGs starting any medical role in NHS Scotland.
