Application Panel Process

To ensure a fair and consistent approach, all applications are assessed against the same eligibility criteria, regardless of job role, title or grade/band.

Once applications are submitted:

  1. A selection panel reviews each application.

  2. Panel members independently score four questions using a scoring matrix — three questions are answered by the applicant and one by the line manager.

  3. The panel meets to make the final selection, based on the overall score of each application.

What the Panel is Looking For
The panel evaluates and scores each application based on:

  • The difference the learning could make to your current or future role.

  • The benefits to you, your colleagues and your organisation.

  • The potential impact on people using services and the wider health and social care sector.

Your line manager’s response is also scored and should explain how the learning will benefit you, your colleagues and your organisation, including how it could support improvements in digital health and care.
