The NMC is currently developing an approach to the regulation of advanced practice – a level of practice in which a nurse or midwife has demonstrated their ability to work autonomously at a high level. As part of the review, we’ve commissioned the Florence Nightingale Foundation (FNF) to undertake an independent piece of research to explore the potential implications of additional regulation of advanced practice on internationally educated nurses and midwives working in the UK.
