Intramuscular injection in children 5 to 11 years

This short video demonstrates the correct intramuscular injection technique for administering Comirnaty® 10 micrograms/dose (Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine) to children aged 5–11 years. Please note that informed consent and vaccine preparation are not included in this video; practitioners should consult separate resources for guidance on these topics.

Intramuscular injection

This short learning resource, featuring both a video and slide set on intramuscular injection technique, is designed to support practitioners administering vaccines. While originally developed for the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme, the content is also applicable to the administration of other intramuscular vaccines in adults.

Intra-nasal

This short video demonstrates the correct technique for intranasal administration of Fluenz® (Live Attenuated Influenza Vaccine).

This resource aims to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge to recognise, manage and support individuals who are experiencing Procedural Anxiety during vaccination procedures. This resource may also be helpful for staff who are involved in initial discussions around vaccinations.

This resource aims to help support healthcare practitioners gain the knowledge to manage and support children and young people with procedural distress during vaccination procedures.
