Concluding preceptorship
As the period of preceptorship comes to an end, preceptees should reflect on their experience and achievements during this time. The reflective and professional skills they have acquired will stand the preceptee in good stead when engaging in CPD and life-long learning throughout their career.
During the final sign off meeting it will be helpful to discuss how the preceptee will maintain these skills and behaviours, and how they will move forward to identify further personal development opportunities and avenues for growth.
The supporting frameworks and additional resources pages within this hub may continue to be helpful for preceptees as they move out of their preceptorship period and where continued development will be supported by the appraisal process and ongoing support and supervision.
