Enhancing Medical Attraction

Add to favourites

The Enhancing Medical Attraction (EMA) Programme forms part of wider Medical Education Reform plans and was established in response to several factors:

  • Applications to medical schools in Scotland were reducing back to pre-pandemic levels
  • A desire to inspire more applications from Scottish domiciled individuals
  • Intention to grow a more diverse medical workforce reflective of the population we serve

A summarised outline of the programme's purpose is available through the Scotland Deanery December Newsletter – featuring our section on Enhancing Attraction to Undergraduate Medicine

Introduction

The NES Medical Directorate (through Additional Cost of Teaching) has funded three Senior Specialist Leads to work on attraction to undergraduate Medicine from July 2024 through to March 2027.
