Thriving in a Digital Age Pathways
Pathway Flyer

Developed by NHS Education for Scotland on behalf of Scottish Government and COSLA, the Thriving in a Digital Age Pathways offer learning resources and reflective activities to help you broaden your knowledge of key digital and data topics. 

There are several pathways for you to work through. The Digital and Data Pathway will develop your understanding of the fundamental concepts related to digital health and care, and there are also topic specific pathways that will provide more focussed learning on key areas of digital.

Build your understanding of the role of digital and data in health and social care. Develop and deepen your awareness of key concepts such as digital inclusion, service transformation and the importance of recording and using data appropriately.

Learn about the cyber security fundamentals you need to be aware of when working in health and social care, and how you can apply simple practices to avoid cyber risks. 

Artificial Intelligence 

Develop your knowledge of AI in health and social care. Learn about potential opportunities, with careful consideration of the risks and ethical factors we need to be aware of.

Digital Mindset Sessions for Senior Leaders
Leading in the Digital Age Post

This Digital Mindset Session for Senior Leaders is designed for directors, associate directors, heads of service, service managers and equivalent roles across health and social care organisations (including social work, housing, charities and the third sector). Board Members are also welcome to attend these sessions. 

This session aims to demystify the concept of a digital mindset, helping you to understand how you can approach issues and opportunities through a digital lens and the benefits of doing so. 

  • Part 1 is a 45 minute pre-recorded session on ‘what it means to be a leader in the digital age’. 
  • Part 2 is a live, interactive, online session led by facilitators over MS Teams

Digital Capabilities Network March

A network dedicated to digital transformation across Scottish Health, Social Work, Social Care & Housing. Each online discussion brings colleagues from across organisations in Scotland to explore the challenges and opportunities we face in digital transformation. A summary report from the meeting will be presented to the Scottish Government/COSLA Digital Capabilities Board and published on the Digital Health and Care website.

Digital and Data Capability Framework Self-Assessment Tool

Developed by NHS Education for Scotland on behalf of Scottish Government and COSLA, the Digital and Data Capability Framework Self-Assessment Tool has been created to help guide individuals through the Digital and Data Capability Framework, allowing users to measure their own digital skills, knowledge, and behaviours. There are 22 questions, and it takes around 20-30 minutes to complete.

 

  • Step 1 - The tool provides a form to guide you through the framework and help you to identify which level best describes your current skills, knowledge, and behaviour. 
  • Step 2 - After submitting you will receive an email with a record of your results, detailing each of the framework capabilities and the level you chose.         
  • Step 3 - The personal email will contain links to learning resources based on the level you chose; these have been selected to support your learning.
