Year one of the Transforming Digital Health and Care for Scotland programme has been a steep learning curve but has offered me a broader frame of reference and supported adoption of a more informed and strategic approach to the work I do within the organisation. I feel the personal and professional development, rapid upskilling, and networking I have undertaken in the first year have been instrumental in establishing myself and my role within this space and have significantly increased the value I can offer.

Participation in the programme has supported my ability to translate and interpret the necessity for digital transformation across both digital and clinical domains. This has helped to promote a shift in culture to one which embraces change and has been achieved through the promotion of digital skills, leadership, and engagement of our workforce from a more informed perspective.  I expect the value to the organisation will continue to be more pronounced as I leverage my networks, continue to build knowledge and skills through the programme, and as I apply this learning from the course with increasing confidence.

Cohort 1 Participants

Hear from Cohort 1 participants Tracey Shaw, Physiotherapy Team Lead at NHS Lanarkshire and Kirsty Bateson, Project ECHO Development Lead, Knowledge Exchange Manager for Highland Hospice about their experience on the programme.

Executive Sponsor: Kenny Steele, CEO, Highland Hospice

The Leading Digital Transformation in Health and Care for Scotland Programme has brought significant organisational benefits to Highland Hospice as well as providing huge personal development benefits for Kirsty (Cohort 1 participant).

Kirsty’s participation in the Programme has developed her confidence in leading change across the organisation as well as in her own specific area, developing Project ECHO. Use of digital marketing and evaluation have been particular areas that the Programme has supported Kirsty with.

The health and care sector has been slow to capitalise on the potential of digital development and this leaders programme is a great way to accelerate the change that is needed.
