The Enhanced and Expert level resources cover all 4 Domains of the Knowledge and Skills Framework for Health and Care Staffing in Scotland. 

It is recognised that, depending on their role and responsibility, staff may require to have knowledge and skills which spans both enhanced and expert. As such, these resources are aimed at health and social care staff who are required to have, or are working towards, an enhanced to expert level of knowledge and skills, supporting staff in leadership roles to have the depth of knowledge to:

  • Fully understand the guiding principles and duties within the Act
  • Lead on supporting implementation amongst their professional groups and within their organisation
  • Lead on the implementation, review and reporting of relevant systems, processes and improvement initiatives
  • Critically discuss and influence organisational decisions relating to staffing
  • Understand the complexities influencing workload and workforce
  • Direct the application of workload and workforce methodology within your organisation
  • Utilise all available data from the triangulation process to inform operational and strategic plans.
  • Direct the implementation, review and reporting of relevant organisational and national strategies, systems, processes and improvement initiatives
  • Direct support for colleagues in relation to the Act

You can access a variety of resources including presentations, a toolkit, videos and signposting to relevant further learning.  These links are provided and themed based on a scoping exercise carried out with health and social care leaders across Scotland.
