Professor Lumsden graduated from the Universities of St Andrews and Manchester joint medical programme in 1995. He is an honorary Consultant in Paediatric Allergy having joined the from the University of Manchester in 2020. He is a Professor of Medical Education, a Director of the Association for the Study of Medical Education and National Teaching Fellow. He is the Lead for the MBChB programme in Aberdeen.
