My plan was to explore whether we could make use of an asynchronous app so parents could upload videos of their children which could be used in autism assessment and diagnosis. We successfully applied to be part of the vCreate neuro test of change and identified 3 core groups of families we intend to invite to participate. These include those who are very young with straightforward presentations; those who are not currently in education and require additional contextual information and those whose anxiety prevents them from communicating verbally in a clinical setting. Our aim is to reduce time taken to conclude an autism assessment without compromising quality and confidence.
We hope to start the trial in the next few weeks having built our version of the app with the vCreate team and having training dates offered to staff.
