This vision has materialised through the rapid implementation of video consultations during the early stages of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and has been one of the stand-out stories of NHS innovation, with promising signs for how video can be used to deliver health and care long term (Scott and Hill, 2020). Expanding on this success consideration is given to how telephone virtual/digital consultation model is introduced within NHS Lanarkshire’s Treatment Rooms. We know that demand for health and care services is increasing and in order to meet that demand we must consider how to make optimal use of the resources, we have to ensure the best possible care for our populations and the individuals who need help.
