eLearning activities

Dementia: Improving Practice [skilled level]

This eLearning programme is designed to develop the knowledge and skills set out at the ‘Dementia Skilled Practice Level’ of Promoting Excellence: a framework for all health and social services staff working with people with dementia, their families and carers.

Adult Support and Protection

Adult Support and Protection is integral to the protection of human rights. Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms which we are all entitled to live with dignity, equality and fairness.

Protection matters because it means protecting people’s right to live in safety, free from harm and any form of physical or emotional abuse or neglect is unacceptable. If you thought a child was at risk of harm, you'd do something about it, and it should be no different for an adult.

Important note:

You should have completed the following modules as part of your AWI learning programme.

Please only complete these once, skip this stage if you have both completion certificates in your learning history attached to your account.

Adult Support and Protection Level 1 [informed]

The overall aim of the adult support and protection practice level 1 (informed) module is to give you the information you will need to ensure the protection and wellbeing of adults at risk of harm.

It will also highlight what to do should you become concerned that an adult is being harmed or at risk of harm. The practice level 1 module is for all members of the health workforce, whether employed or volunteers.

Adult Support and Protection Level 2 [skilled]

The overall aim of the adult support and protection practice level 2 (skilled) module is to support you in recognising adults at risk of harm and the processes involved in adult support and protection. The practice level 2 module is for staff who, within their role, have direct and/or substantial contact with adults.
