Public Services Scotland Reducing Inequalities workstream is part of Dental Workforce Development, Dental Directorate. We aim to work collaboratively with key partners to reduce inequalities and improve oral health though the life course.
Our team supports national oral health programmes such as childsmile and caring for smiles, developing and delivering educational solutions for the dental team, and the wider health, social care and third-sector workforce.
Our training team brings together a diverse range of oral health and social care expertise shaped by years of working in communities across Scotland.
Collectively, they draw on experience as oral health educators, as well as work within the prison service and third-sector organisations, giving them a deep understanding of the varied challenges people face in achieving good oral health.
Some of the team have supported the Caring for Smiles programme delivering training in the care home setting, with a commitment to improving outcomes for dependent older people and adults with additional care needs.
This blend of backgrounds allows us to deliver training that is informed, compassionate, and grounded in real-world practice.
