Vaccinators who completed the screening or vaccination steps can delete a vaccination episode with any of these statuses:

  • Screening Incomplete (Draft)
  • Screened
  • Vaccination Incomplete (Draft)
  • Completed

Completed vaccinations can be deleted for 60minutes after the vaccination has been completed.

Records Manager
Records Managers can delete a vaccination episode recorded at clinics within their Health Board. Vaccination episodes can be deleted with the following statuses:

  • Screening Incomplete (Draft)
  • Screened
  • Vaccination Incomplete (Draft)
  • Completed

Completed vaccinations can be deleted if the completed date is less than 26 weeks since the vaccination was completed.

For more information refer to the 'Delete Vaccination' sections of the user guide.

Can I amend or edit a Vaccination Record?

The user who created and completed the vaccination episode has a 60-minute window of opportunity to amend the record before we export it to the National Clinical Data Store (NCDS).

The Amend option is only available to the user where:

  • the user is the 'Vaccinator' who completed the vaccination episode
  • the vaccination episode is in the 'Completed' state
  • the vaccination episode outcome is 'Administered'
  • the vaccination episode was completed within the previous 60 minutes

The user can only amend a vaccination record where the vaccination was administered. So, only the following fields are available to the user to amend:

  • Product Name
  • Batch Number
  • Vaccination Dose Number
  • Date of Vaccination Dose
  • Method of Administration
  • Site of Administration

For more information refer to the 'Amend' section of the user guide.

What vaccinations can be recorded via the Turas Vaccination Management tool?

The Turas Vaccination Management tool can support the recording of vaccinations administered for the following vaccine types

  • Cholera
  • Combined (Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Polio)
  • Combined (Pertussis, Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Polio)
  • Combined (Hepatitis A and Typhoid)
  • COVID-19
  • Flu
  • Hepatitis A
  • Pneumococcal
  • Shingles
  • Typhoid

Note: The Health Board will need to create and configure a clinic with the desired vaccine types to be available. In addition, vaccine products need to be associated with the vaccine types. The association of vaccine product to vaccine type is currently performed by the NES System Administrator with guidance from the national Pharmaceutical Adviser.
