The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Specialist Career Framework aims to support the development of the specialist IPC workforce across health and social care by outlining the knowledge, skills and behaviours required at different levels of practice. The Framework is intended for staff working—or preparing to work—in specialist IPC roles across Scotland, including IPC Practitioners, IPC Managers and IPC Clinical Leads, IPC Associate Practitioners, IPC Doctors/clinical scientists, Health Protection Nurses, Healthcare Scientists involved in IPC, surveillance or epidemiology.
