Understanding and Supporting Adults with ADHD: Practical, Neuro-Affirming Strategies for Everyday Practice

This webinar provides an introduction to understanding and supporting adults with ADHD using a neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach. It is designed to build confidence across the workforce in recognising how ADHD can present in adulthood, including in individuals who may have been previously under-recognised or misdiagnosed.

The session explores common co-occurring emotional wellbeing and mental health needs, alongside practical, immediately usable strategies to support individuals in everyday settings. This includes consideration of environmental adaptations, communication approaches, and anticipatory supports that can help reduce barriers and create more enabling environments.

The webinar emphasises a needs-led approach, recognising that meaningful support does not need to be dependent on diagnosis. It draws on clinical expertise, evidence, and lived experience to support reflective and inclusive practice.

This resource is suitable for staff working with adults across health, social care, mental health, justice, housing, employability, higher education, and community services. It is aligned to an Informed Practice Level, and no prior knowledge of ADHD is required.
