Facilitating Learning in Psychological Therapies and Interventions
Prerequisites:
Trainers should have completed the relevant familiarisation training (part 1) for the subject they will be teaching.
Learning aims:
This blended learning programme supports the ongoing development of staff providing training in psychological therapies within local health boards and provides an opportunity for trainers to increase their knowledge of effective learning and teaching strategies and to reflect on their approach to teaching. The learning programme consists of:
1. Completing 1 e-learning module on Turas Learn
2. Attending 2 day workshops which aim to provide an overview of adult learning and its application within clinical practice, explore different teaching and learning styles and their application, and provide participants with the knowledge and skills required for planning and delivering an effective learning session. The digital learning resources to support the training, Foundations of Adult Learning are available from Turas Learn.
Learning outcomes:
1. Discuss theories of adult learning and their application within the context of learning
2. Plan a learning event that promotes a positive learning environment
3. Apply a range of strategies to facilitate effective learning and teaching within the workplace
