Our SMMDP courses are mostly hosted at regular locations within each health board. Below is some location information, along with parking information for your upcoming course.
Please note that this page is under development and has limited information at present. From time to time, some of our SMMDP courses are hosted at different locations, which will not be shown below. However, details will be available on the candidate invite email for you to search if not available.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran
Course Locations: Ayrshire Maternity Unit, Crosshouse, Kilmarnock
Ayrshire Maternity Unit (AMU)
Education Suite, Ayrshire Maternity Unit, Kilmarnock Road, Crosshouse, Kilmarnock, KA2 0BE
Parking available (please follow onsite parking regulations) and café facilities (Cafe Brambles - 10:00 to 15:00).
Most training is hosted within the Education Centre, which is located on the ground floor of the AMU.
How to Find It (General Steps)
Enter the reception for the Maternity Unit.
Follow signs for the Education Suite.
Additional information:
If candidates are ever lost, ask the receptionist present at the front desk.
There is a door on the right by the reception desk that leads to the stairs for access to the first floor if access to the first floor is required.
The lift is located near the entrance of labour ward.
NHS Highland
Course Locations: County Community Hospital, Invergordon. Culloden-Balloch Baptist Church.

Free onsite parking available and café facilities (An Rudha Cafe - 08:30 - 14:30 - Monday to Friday).
The training is usually held in the Training Rooms.
How to Find It (General Steps)
Enter the main reception door.
Look for signs directing towards the Training Rooms.
Please note a floor plan is unavailable for this location.
Culloden-Balloch Baptist Church

Free onsite parking available and café facilities (Wellside Cafe - 10:00 to 15:00 - Wednesday and Thursday only).
NHS Lothian
Course Locations: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and St John's Hospital, Livingston.
Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE)
Post-Graduate Education Centre (PGEC), Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE), 51 Little France Crescent, Old Dalkeith Road, Edinburgh, EH16 4SA
There is no parking at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh unless you have a permit. Parking in the staff carpark (2C) is permitted, after 11:30am only, but spaces are limited. Free parking is available at the Sheriffhall Park and Ride, where you can take the bus to and from the hospital.
Café facilities available.
The PGEC is just off main mall heading towards the maternity department.
How to Find It (General Steps)
Enter the main mall of the RIE.
Look for signs directing towards the Simpson Centre for Reproductive Health.
The Postgraduate Education Centre (PEC) will be located along the corridor connecting these two areas.
St John’s Hospital, Livingston
Education Centre – 1st Floor, St John’s Hospital, Howden West Road, Howden, Livingston, West Lothian, EH54 6PP
There is no parking on site unless you have a permit. Parking is available off site at Livingston Football Stadium, where it is a short walk to the hospital, or take the shuttle bus up to hospital.
Café facilities available.
The Education Centre is on the 1st floor. On entry at the main entrance, turn right, head up to first floor lift or stairs, then follow signage for Education Centre.
How to Find It (General Steps)
Enter the Main Entrance: Go through the main entrance of St. John's Hospital.
Turn right at reception, head up to the first floor lifts or stairs.
The Education Centre is on the 1st floor. Follow signs for "Medical Education," "Education Centre," or "Training Centre".
