IMGs are encouraged to use available resources, including induction programs and support initiatives from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and the Scotland Deanery, for a smooth transition into their new roles.

A practical resource designed to support IMGs in conducting both initial and follow-up meetings with their educational supervisors. This guide helps ensure meaningful discussions, clear expectations, and ongoing professional development throughout the appraisal process.

GMC Workshops for IMG Supervisors
Held in Dundee every August and February, these GMC-facilitated workshops offer in-depth support for supervisors working with International Medical Graduates (IMGs). The sessions provide a deeper exploration of key challenges and best practices in IMG supervision.
Educational Supervisor Guide for IMG Support – Developed by GGC Lead
