Aim
In this course learners will gain knowledge about the principles of photography, equipment required, and how to take common dental views. The course includes video demonstrations and quizzes to test knowledge, ensuring competency in capturing high-quality dental images.
Learning Outcomes
Define the role and importance of clinical photography in dental practice for diagnosis, treatment planning, communication, and documentation.
Describe and apply the basic principles of photography to capture consistent, high-quality intraoral and extraoral images.
Identify and evaluate the essential equipment for dental photography (cameras, lenses, retractors, mirrors, ), selecting appropriate tools for specific clinical situations.
Demonstrate compliance with legal and ethical requirements by obtaining informed consent and implementing protocols for the secure storage and sharing of dental images.
Perform photography of standardised dental views (e.g., frontal, lateral, occlusal, retracted intraoral views) according to best practice guidelines, ensuring diagnostic value.
