The emphasis will be on current exposure therapy models - particularly the inhibitory learning model developed by Craske and colleagues. This will demonstrate how teaching people to generalise safety learning, to get better outcomes more quickly, across different anxiety-based disorders.   The relevant literature showing exposure therapy to be the most effective approach for a wide range of anxiety-based disorders, but also being one of the least used, will be examined, with the underlying mechanisms driving this discussed.  The emphasis will be on how to develop the necessary skills and meta-competences to be more confident in delivering exposure therapy..
