Cohort 3: Update
Recruitment for Cohort 3 of the MSc Leading Digital Transformation programme closed in July 2025. A Selection Panel comprising representatives from Scottish Government, COSLA, and NHS Education for Scotland was held to review submissions and 28 candidates were selected to progress onto the PGCert pathway.
Programme Launch
Cohort 3 of the PGCert officially launched in September 2025 with a range of onboarding activities to support early engagement.
An online orientation session on 10 September gave participants a valuable introduction to the programme, its structure, and available support, ahead of the official start on 15 September.
The year ahead promises a strong focus on leadership, collaboration, and digital transformation.
Welcome Digital Supporters to Year 1
To support digital supporters in guiding participants through the programme, a 30-minute lunchtime webinar was held on 18 September 2025.
The session provided an introduction to Year 1, outlining the courses, and offering supporters the chance to connect with one another. It also explored how supporters and participants can work together effectively to maximise the programme’s impact and value within their organisations.

In Person Welcome Event
The University of Edinburgh was delighted to welcome Cohort 3 to the in-person launch event on 2 October 2025.
The event was well attended, with 25 out of 28 participants joining in person, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to the year ahead. The day provided a valuable opportunity for participants to meet programme staff and their peers face-to-face, helping to establish early relationships and foster a sense of community.
This early momentum reflects the collaborative spirit that’s key to the programme’s success.
