Course description: This 2-day course is open to all ST1 and GPST doctors starting in ophthalmology. The aim of the course is to provide a grounding in clinical knowledge and examination skills required to survive and thrive in your first ophthalmology post including your on-calls. The course consists of a series of talks, tutorials and practical sessions and is delivered by consultants and specialty trainees. There is no essential pre-reading, but we recommend the following useful resources on the Ophthalmology (Eye-Site) on the NHS E-Learning for Health (e-LFH) website: https://portal.e-lfh.org.uk/.

  • Eye-Site 04: Clinical Assessment (Basic Assessment Course)
  • Eye-Site 09: Acute Presentations
  • Eye-Site 15: Ultrasonography

How to book: The simulation team will send an email invitation to ST1 trainees when the course is open to book.
