Add to favourites

The aim of this day is to take you through a simulated night shift as a registrar.

We have a highly skilled expert faculty who will support you to consolidate your skills in leadership, prioritisation and management through a simulated night shift as a registrar. This will be a safe space to discuss potential management and leadership decisions with faculty and peers and somewhere to ask questions. The teaching will be delivered through a mixture of immersive simulation, table-top exercises and communication simulation sessions. There will be opportunity for peer to peer learning which is provided by resident doctor colleagues who have recently been through this same transition. All content delivered is aligned to the RCPCH curriculum and specifically designed to address learning needs at this crucially important part of your training.

Structure of the day

  • Immersive simulation scenarios
  • Table-top preparation for registrar exercises (e.g. prioritisation)
  • Peer to peer learning and a chance to ask questions of colleagues who have recently been through this transition
  • Communication simulation exercises
