Aim 

To equip Dental Core and Specialty Training supervisors with the essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes to effectively design, deliver, and evaluate educational meetings, while providing high-quality supervision, assessment, and feedback in clinical training environments.

Intended Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this programme, participants will be able to:

  1. Plan and facilitate effective educational meetings that support the learning needs of dental trainees, incorporating principles of adult learning and inclusive teaching strategies.
  2. Apply best practices in clinical supervision to foster a supportive and developmentally appropriate learning environment, recognising varying levels of trainee experience and competence.
  3. Utilise appropriate assessment tools and frameworks (e.g., workplace-based assessments, ARCP requirements) to evaluate trainee performance objectively and fairly.
  4. Deliver constructive, timely, and learner-centred feedback that promotes reflection, professional growth, and progression in Dental Core and Specialty training.

LEARNING AGREEMENT

Step 1 

The Learning Agreement 

Learners are asked to sign a learning agreement to ensure they understand and commit to the expectations, responsibilities, and goals of their learning program. It promotes accountability, clarifies roles, and helps support a successful and structured learning experience.

eLearning

Step 2

Completion of eLearning

Learners must complete the eLearning module: Educational Supervision for Core and Specialty Supervisors. This element must be completed prior to attending the in-person event.

In person event

Step 3

Attend in-person training event

In-person participation at an organised event to be held in one of our Glasgow sites. This is a valuable opportunity to come together with your peers, enhance your learning experience and build on your network of support.
