Webinar resources from the Chatting Together to Support Early Language and Communication WCYPF Webinar, which was hosted on Wednesday 30 April 2025. These resources will be available until Tuesday 31 March 2026.
The Women, Children, Young People and Families (WYCPF) team at NHS Education for Scotland (NES) were delighted to host a webinar focusing on Chatting Together to Support Early Language and Communication. This webinar was planned to be interactive, with the opportunity to explore some exciting resources. This will include fun activities, tips, and advice and information about children’s early language and communication development. The event was run in partnership with BBC Tiny Happy People, Parent Club, Scottish Government National Early Language and Communication Team and NHS Education for Scotland.
This webinar aimed to:
Describe the impact of early speech, language and communication (SLC) concerns across the life course.
Introduce the new national speech, language and communication messages ‘Chatting Together’ and how these can be used in practice.
Explore Parent Club from the Scottish Government and how the website can facilitate conversations with the families you support around a wide range of issues
Develop confidence in sharing key language resources from the BBC Tiny Happy People site with families.
Signpost you to learning resources which can support your further learning and development in relation to children’s early language and communication development

NHS Education Scotland Webinar facilitated in partnership with BBC Tiny Happy People, Parent Club, and Scottish Government National Early Language and Communication Team have produced the Chatting Together to Support Early Language and Communication SWAY. The SWAY provides links to useful learning resources for health visitors and family nurse partnership (FNP) nurses in supporting families with early language and communication.
