Information on the learner route
The Learner route will run two cohorts per year with training intakes in August and February.
This route comprises experiential work-place based learning with some blended learning such as speciality-based placements. The curriculum is outcomes-based. Attainment of the competencies may be achieved at different times depending on pre-credential experience, training, and learning.
The curriculum will be delivered through a variety of learning experiences and will allow learners to achieve the capabilities described through a variety of learning methods. There will be a balance of different modes of learning from experiential learning ‘on the job’ to more formal courses. The proportion of time allocated to different learning methods will vary depending on the previous experience of the learner. Training should be constructed to enable learners to experience the full range of educational and training opportunities available and there will be robust arrangements for quality assurance in place to ensure consistent implementation of the curriculum.
Applicants for the learner route should seek support from their employer, including their agreement that the employer will actively facilitate and support the credential learner in terms of training/study time and budget.
For Learner route applications the Credential Development Body will review the application, self-assessment, references, and responsible officer endorsement in order to ensure that those with relevant previous skills/experience will have these recognised appropriately.
For further details on a learner route application please refer to section 5.1 of the Credential User Guide which can be viewed at Credential User Guide
