A NES Quality Improvement learner pathway for managers and team leaders.

Introduction

Welcome!

Managing QI is for managers and team leaders that have a role in managing change and improvement. This pathway will support you to lead and support teams in making lasting improvements.

As this pathway involves application of different methods and tools in the workplace, you should be actively working with a team with opportunities to support change and improvement in order to apply the learning and share as part of the facilitated sessions.

To complete the pathway, you must complete every section, and to get the most out of the pathway we recommend that the sections are completed in order. However, you can access the eLearning modules at any time, and book onto facilitated sessions for dates and times that suit you.

To learn more about the pathway select the introductory video below.

Please note: When requested, NES will share data relating to your engagement with the learner pathways with your employing organisation to support the mapping of QI knowledge and skills in the workforce. High level anonymised engagement data will also be used for reporting purposes. For more information access the NES privacy and data protection notice.

If you are a learner from outside Scotland, you cannot currently take part in Managing QI. However, please register your interest here and we will contact you if the pathway becomes available.

Pathway structure

Managing QI is built upon the foundations of QI Essentials, and those modules form the first part of the pathway.  If you have already completed the QI Essentials pathway separately you are not required to complete it again, but the modules are available if you want to refresh your learning.

The pathway is divided into four sections:

  • Leadership and teams
  • Systems thinking
  • QI methodology
  • Data and measurement

Each section contains an eLearning module and a corresponding facilitated session, except for QI Methodology, which contains an eLearning module only.

Once you have completed each section, you will attend a final presentation session, where you will share your learning and experience.

To learn more about the pathway, please download the handbook below. This provides more detail about the pathway content, expectations of participants, and booking and access.
