The Centre supports the professional learning and development of practitioners in remote, rural, and island practice. There is a need to support practitioners with increased access to technology enabled learning. Accessible education & training will support primary care practitioners’ professional development and contribute to increased retention.
Description: Who and How
The Centre is working with stakeholders to develop GP dispensing training for rural primary care practices. To provide equity of access to rural practitioners, the training development will be made available online. The Centre is also working with several primary care practices to pilot the development of a community training hub. An online team’s channel has been created to bring practitioners together for peer learning/discuss rural challenges, that might not occur otherwise. A Turas site is in development which will host resources for:-
