Implement a digital platform to collect postoperative patient-reported outcome measures (PROMS) from patients undergoing elective surgery in NHS Tayside, with implementation in a pilot specialty and data collection from 50% of their patients, by the end of May 2024. Ensure that this data is accessible within patients’ electronic medical records, to individual surgeons for appraisal and revalidation purposes, and to the Clinical Governance team for ongoing governance and quality assurance purposes. Ensure that the platform used can be easily expanded to other clinical specialties for the collection of specialty-specific patient-reported outcome measures across the organization. Select a platform with appropriate FHIR/HL7 compliance and API support, to ensure appropriate interoperability with other clinical information systems. Implement in a manner consistent with best Information Governance practices.
