A new learning resource to help support registered healthcare practitioners to gain the knowledge required to confidently offer measles vaccination where appropriate in the context of current measles epidemiology.
There is currently a resurgence of measles cases in the UK which is attributed to a decline in vaccination coverage both within the UK and globally. The currently available vaccine is a combined measles, mumps and rubella vaccine (MMR) which is part of the childhood schedule. MMR vaccine can be given to individuals of any age, usually from age 12 months and should be offered opportunistically and promoted to unvaccinated or partially vaccinated adults.
