There is currently a resurgence of measles cases in the UK which is attributed to a decline in vaccination coverage both within the UK and globally. The currently available vaccine is a combined measles, mumps and rubella vaccine (MMR) which is part of the childhood schedule. MMR vaccine can be given to individuals of any age, usually from age 12 months and should be offered opportunistically and promoted to unvaccinated or partially vaccinated adults.

Please note: These educational resources continue to be updated as required but do not replace the clinical judgement of practitioners. Practitioners should refer to the Green Book Chapter 18a when administering the vaccine.
