Scottish Organ Donation Simulation Course

Course details

This one-day course is aimed at senior ICM trainees and critical care nurses.

It offers candidates hands-on experience with the support of expert faculty in organ donation. The high faculty to candidate ratio enables candidates to get involved in discussions with Clinical Leads for Organ Donation and the Specialist Nurses for Organ Donation.

The focus of this day will allow candidates to improve their practical and communication skills in Organ Donation. In particular, the course will focus on BSD testing, approach conversations, WLST and DCD. In addition, there is built in time for discussion and this will enable candidates to engage in some of the ethical and legal aspects surrounding organ donation.
