Aims and Learning Outcomes
Aims:
To understand the importance of grievance processes, the role in the process of those involved and the potential risks which could arise from getting it wrong.
Please note: This course is aimed at members of the dental team either currently with or hoping to progress to a role with managerial responsibility.
Learning Outcomes:
- Recognise the 'bigger picture' ie. where grievance procedures fit in a legal context and the potential risks which could arise.
- Describe the best practice regarding gathering evidence during a grievance investigation.
- Identify potential problem areas during grievance investigations and hearings.
- Provide practical tips for managing grievance procedures.

- Click on the Portal TV Logo
- Log into Portal
- Once logged in, go to iBooklet/Search for.../Portal TV in the menu on the left
- Click on Dental
- Look for the window for the recording you wish to view. In this case "How to Handle Grievance Procedures in the Dental Sector" and click on the blue button "REGISTER NOW"
- Once you complete your booking and pay the Portal charge, go back to the Portal TV tab and click the "REFRESH" button
- When you re-enter Dental, you will note that you are now registered and you can watch the recording by clicking on the video
- Once you have watched the recording, you can close the recording window
- To demonstrate you have watched the recording and generate your certificate of attendance, you must return your reflective comments on the shortened evaluation form you will find in iBooklet/Manage.../Your Course Evaluations
- Once you have submitted your form, your certificate can be accessed and downloaded in iBooklet/Reports & Certificates/Course Certificates in the usual way
- You will have access to the recording until 12.10.2024 and can watch it as many times as you wish
