These training resource will help support registered healthcare practitioners involved with the Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) Immunisation programme. These resources include Mantoux skin testing.
Please note: These educational resources will be updated as required to support this programme but do not replace the clinical judgement of practitioners. Practitioners should refer to Immunisation Against Infectious Disease, Tuberculosis: the Green Book: Chapter 32, when administering this vaccine.
Before you are able to undertake vaccination practice you need to demonstrate that you have achieved the required knowledge and skills. NES/PHS has developed a proficiency assessment documents for registered healthcare practitioners .This proficiency assessment document should be used in practice with your supervisor/line manager and will allow you to demonstrate proficiency of both the Mantoux skin test and the BCG immunisation.
